Walk Your Dog with Love Harness

Special Donations

We are so grateful and so fortunate that every day of the month we receive donations
from kind hearted people who care about and love animals. We receive everything from
rubber gloves and canned food to bleach, blankets and laundry soap. Some of those
donations have been unusual, and we would like to recognize them on this page.

The many people who collect and give us their Shaw’s register receipts.  We have received
over $6700.00 from Shaw’s and that means you have given us over $600,000.00 dollars worth
of receipts.

The Cross Family, who donated funding for a community cat room and outdoor enclosure in
memory of their beloved daughter.

Jeff Steppler who donated his time to build the community cat room.

Christa Davis, who donated a mural for the community cat room.

Heather Carleton, DVM, who formerly practiced at the Springfield Animal Hospital and now
practices in Jackson, Wyoming.  She continues to provide funding for the Homeward Bound
Scholarship Fund.  These dollars pay half the adoption fee for any cat who has been in the
shelter for an extended period of time.

Springfield Garden Club who donated and planted, the lovely plants in the shelter's new

Carol Young who gave us funding for our dogs who require a wee bit of extra training with a
professional trainer.

Louise Forbush who donated the funds for us to purchase a much-needed new washer.

Richard Gorton who donated funds for us to purchase the much-needed new dryer.

Llanda Richardson and Terry Steiner who donated 12 very comfy Kuranda frame dog beds
and bedding in memory of her aunt Elizabeth Richardson and her aunt's beloved Collie
"Bonnie Lassie." Llanda and Terry also provided a matching donation for medications for our
pets having special needs, labor, materials and accountrements for our Meet-n-Greet dog area.
They also graciously donate when other ongoing needs develop.

Tracy and Gregg Ramsey who are underwriting the cost of micro-chipping every dog adopted
from our shelter.

On August 21 2008, Ted Knox and his competent crew came to the Humane Society.  We were in
desperate need of help in removing 6 very tall pine trees that were past their prime and in danger
of toppling over into the shelter or the house during one of our strong Vermont storms
- it was only a matter of time.  Our donations are directed towards care and feeding of the animals
and we could in no way have afforded to pay for this necessary job.  Ted and his men
generously donated their time and energy.  They exercised extreme safety, were professional,
friendly, and great to have here.  They also cleaned up after the whole job was finished. In short,
it is one slick operation.  Thanks Ted and Company!

HB Plumbing & Heating who provide us with in-kind services and special pricing.

Paul Schofield who has generously provided “tune-ups” for our washer.

Thank you to everyone who thinks of the homeless animals here at our shelter.
